hi, my name is felicia. i am a woman.

my origins are from new york city, but i have lived and traveled so many countries that there isn’t a singular place that has shaped me. i keep with me the gifts of all the places i’ve been so fortunate to encounter.

my background is in theater, playwriting, and creative writing. though i love story telling, i felt my path drawing me into new directions, in ways that felt more in alignment with being of service. i still write, mostly essays and poetry, that you can check out on my media page. now writing is simply for the sake of personal creative expression.

with this nomadic spirit, i’m always drawn to explore both the outer worlds and inner worlds, as well. home is a feeling, not a place, and i have been deepening that understanding through my connection to my path, purpose, inner being, and the earth herself.

by living in so many different places, different cultures, situations, with different people, i have found myself inspired by the world around me and the ever flickering or blatantly glowing light i see in nearly every person i meet. i wanted to share these people and this wisdom with the world so i created Wisdom Weavers Podcast, which i host. it’s a delicious, fun, and inspiring on-going project. i’ve connected to so many people through this medium and have been able to cast their wisdom far and wide into the ether.

i am also am an astrologer and artist. i love studying the mysteries and anything occult related. but more importantly, i’m an avid student of meditation. my meditation practice is an ever unfolding journey and i can’t imagine my life without such a practice. i love diving deep into herbalism, playing instruments, writing music, making jewelry, writing poetry, hosting women’s gatherings, ceremony, taking cold river baths, listening to the sounds of nature, making fires to keep warm, hiking, and basking in nature.

but honestly, just being is enough.

my experience with my menstrual cycle led me on a path of discovering the wisdom and power that our bodies hold as women. i’ve used art and poetry as a medium to explore this topic, and somehow my work has unfolded from there.

upon request, i’m happy to incorporate any of my other skills in and around my doula work.

THE CALLING

my deep call to birth work started with knowing that our bodies, as women, are innately knowledgeable and intuitive. an empowered birth experience brings us back to this. i am in service to women (and their partners), so that they may experience their birth feeling safe, supported, and empowered, no matter what their preferences are. i am here to support whether that’s at home with a midwife, in a hospital with an epidural, or a freebirth, completely outside the system. what matters to me most is that we feel like a good match and that the woman is birthing where and how she feels is best for her, within her own autonomy. you are your own authority in your birth. i serve you, i work for you, not anyone or anything else.

i see the importance of continuity of care, something that is lacking, especially in the hospital and even with many midwives. that is where my role comes in. i will always be honest and always be free of judgement. i serve you, and no one else.

every birthing woman comes from an epic lineage of birthing women. i honor this transformational transition in a woman’s life with deep reverence and i adapt to meet her (and her partner’s) needs.

i am a doula, birth keeper, birth coach, childbirth educator, fertility coach, mizan therapist, post partum doula, and wombworker. i’ve supported dozens of births and birthing women + their partners + their families. i have also supported people dealing with loss. i believe the line between birth and death is quite thin. both must be honored and loved.

i am a certified birth worker supporting Hypnobirthing with completion of a Spinning Babies intensive. i completed the year-long intensive birthkeeper’s course of Holistic Midwifery at Da A Luz Midwifery School.

my birth bag includes:

  • physical comfort measures

  • spinning babies (optimal positioning)

  • homeopathy

  • placenta work

  • breastfeeding support

  • herbs

  • ritual

  • ceremony

  • nutrition

  • prenatal classes

  • reiki

  • hypnobirthing

  • shiatsu

  • extensive knowledge of physiological birth

  • advocacy (experience both in hospital and at home)

  • love, trust, respect, free of judgement.

  • absolute support for the birthing woman, no matter what her preferences are.
